Building Department

The Building Department is responsible for administering the California Building Code requirements along with any local amendments.  The codes are administered through the plan-checking and on-site inspection process.  The Building Department reviews construction plans, facilitates permit issuance and conducts inspection to ensure safe, healthy and attractive property improvements in compliance with codes, policies, guidelines and standards.

Construction Hours
The allowable construction hours are as follows:

Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
No work is allowed on Sunday or Holidays

Scheduling a Building Inspection

Building Inspections are generally available on Mondays and Wednesday between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. Inspections can be scheduled online at epermits.montesereno.org or by calling (408) 354-2805.
